Title: ‘Corpus Christi: The Crucified and Glorified Christ'.

The key liturgical signs are shown covering the seasons from Ash Wednesday all the way through to the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart. Jesus’ body is painted purple for Lent, red for Good Friday and Pentecost, and gold (white) for Easter; these are the colors of the vestments from Ash Wednesday to Pentecost to the three solemnities of Trinity Sunday, The Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He is rising in his crucified body from the darkness (Easter Sunday), and ascending into Heaven (Ascension) to be crowned as Lord by his Father (The Paschal Mystery). The crown has three jewels with the three primary colors (primaries cannot be formed by any other color combinations): Gold (yellow, white) for the Father, Red for the Son, and Blue for the Holy Spirit. From his pierced side flows blood and water indicating the birth of the Church on Good Friday, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, and the Second Sunday of the Easter Triduum, Divine Mercy Sunday. From his hand he consecrates the Eucharist on Holy Thursday, and also for the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi).
